Entre fuegos artificiales, el sonido de los cláxones y repartición de dulces, este lunes 12 de agosto se realizó la calenda anual del Día del Taxista por diversas calles del Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Oaxaca.
La conmemoración comenzó a las 9:00 horas y partió de la calzada Madero, al poniente de la ciudad, hacia el templo de Guadalupe, ubicada en el Paseo Juárez El Llano, donde se ofició una misa en honor de las y los trabajadores del volante.
Durante su recorrido por calles como Independencia y Pino Suárez, a pesar de lo controversial de sus actividades, pues son reiteradas las acusaciones de abuso en el cobro de los viajes y en algunos casos maltrato por parte de los operadores, la población en general e incluso turistas se sumaron al festejo con manifestaciones de apoyo, felicitaciones y saludos por donde atravesaba el contingente conformado por los integrantes de los diversos sitios de la capital.
Los conductores y las conductoras, por su parte, agradecieron las muestras de respaldo, al tiempo que manifestaron sentirse orgullosos de su trabajo.
Las mujeres se adueñan del volante
Tal es el caso Bertha Luis López, una mujer oaxaqueña que gana el sustento diario para ella y su familia conduciendo una unidad de alquiler del sitio ADO.
Bertha se dice maravillada con su trabajo, a pesar de que ha tenido que lidiar de manera reiterada contra el machismo.
“Es un trabajo extraordinario, muy hermoso, muy bendecido. Me encanta mi trabajo…”, sostiene la ciudadana, que con una sonrisa dibujada en el rostro explica que cada vez más mujeres han decidido dedicarse a ese oficio.
“Ya somos muchas, ya reconocidas. Muchas taxistas mujeres. Sí me gustaría que empiecen a reconocer nuestro trabajo.
“Como mujeres la verdad que es un poquito complicado porque existe mucho machismo, son muchos retos acá que hay que saber sobrellevar en el trabajo”, subraya Bertha, mientras avanza lentamente entre aquella fila de vehículos amarillos, el color distintivo de los taxis de la capital.
“Claro, sí”, responde inmediatamente a la pregunta de si existe respeto de sus clientes hacia ella.
“Aquí depende mucho de uno. Uno se debe dar a respetar, y sí, muchos felicitan. Muchas clientas te piden el número de teléfono porque se sienten más a gusto o más en confianza con una taxista”, refiere mientras avanza sobre la avenida Independencia.
Lanzarán aplicación para que mujeres pidan viajes con otras mujeres
Es tal el auge que está cobrando en Oaxaca el hecho de que cada vez sean más mujeres las conductoras de taxis, que en próximas fechas será lanzada una aplicación para que las usuarias contraten el servicio de otras mujeres de manera directa.
“Próximamente va a haber una aplicación, un grupo donde van a poder pedir el servicio para que una conductora mujer las lleve a su trabajo, a su casa… a donde el cliente lo pida”, agrega.
A las autoridades, Bertha les pidió que pongan mayor atención en el mantenimiento de las calles, pues en Oaxaca y su zona metropolitana hay puntos que están severamente dañados, según el testimonio de la especialista en el volante.
“Sobre todo los bloqueos (son los problemas), que casi no se dan aquí en Oaxaca”, dicen tono de broma.
“Los bloqueos, el tráfico y las condiciones en las que están las calles. Realmente sí es un poco complicado para nuestras unidades, pues se dañan muy rápido. Las calles de Oaxaca necesitan muchas reparaciones”, lamenta.
